THE HOLY GRAIL of TechStream

There is a lot of information and oppinion out there about how to imolement TechStream for the RAV4V  and other Toyota Vehicles. This is a repository of what I have found, the apps, patches, drivers and tools. Also myoppinion.

The information I am placing here may not be of any use whats so ever it is however the most complete compilation of versions and options available. The focus of course  here is getting this to work on the  RAV4EV, others help yourself no warranty in either case. There are two recommended paths.

1- The easy, no risk path is to load Techstream Version 10 on windows XP or VISTA.

2- The more challenging, possibly risky path is to load TechStream Version 17 on any 64 bit windows up to an including Windows 10. This is the hacked Autokennt version.

You will ned to aquire one of these USB Serial to ODBII adapters: mini vci j2534 there are plenty of other sources, I know this one works.

Whats the risk : Anything identified as Autokent are hacked files. Meaning that the code has been modified to work, Antivirus software detects that the checksums  or some other factor are wrong and flag them as viruses. The4re are also registry eedits invoved which in my oppinion are harmless. These virus Alerts have been called these false positives. The fact is they are hacked files, commonly used to propogate viruses of one sort or another. I have not created these programs, I have been using them and they seem to not be causing any issues for me. I have gone to a lot of effort to test these in a safe environmnet they do not appear to have  a virus. Truth is there is no way to tell if they will wake up one day in the future. I have communicated directly with Autokent and I do not belive he intends any harm to users. Use at your own risk.

I resommend using Version 17 Autokent thsi is how you can install it.
